Billings Regional High School; his gymnastics teams dominated provincial competitions for years.He retired from teaching in 1983, moved to Ottawa and helped open a Rideau Centre restaurant, Danwich of Copenhagen, that specialized in open-faced sandwiches.In his retirement, he enjoyed golf, travel and wine making.
