(c) To be eligible for a certificate established under this section, a person must: (A) satisfactorily complete the course work for that certificate in an educator preparation program, including a knowledge-based and skills-based course of instruction on early childhood education that includes: (a) using small group instructional formats that focus on building social, emotional, and academic skills; (b) navigating multiple content areas; and, (c) managing a classroom environment in which small groups of students are working on different tasks; and, (ii) strategies for teaching fundamental academic skills, including reading, writing, and numeracy; or. Earn a Degree: Like any teaching degree, you must graduate from an accredited college with a bachelor's or higher degree in education. (b) Each educator preparation program shall submit data elements as required by the board for an annual performance report to ensure access and equity. 159), Sec. (g) The commissioner may delay implementation of Subsection (e) to a school year not later than the 2025-2026 school year if the revision of the essential knowledge and skills for the social studies curriculum under Section 28.002(h-2) or the availability of civics training programs does not occur in a manner that reasonably affords public schools the ability to comply with that subsection by an earlier school year. A continuing contract must be in writing and must include the terms of employment prescribed by this subchapter and any other appropriate provisions consistent with this subchapter. (a) From funds appropriated for that purpose in an amount not to exceed $2.5 million each year, the commissioner may develop and award grants to school districts, regional education service centers, nonprofit organizations, and institutions of higher education for establishing and providing technical assistance and professional development activities in the staff development training of public school teachers and administrators. (a) The board shall establish a standard Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps teaching certificate to provide Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps instruction. (a) The agency may enter into an agreement as prescribed by Subsection (b) with a school district described by Section 21.602(2) that first employs as a full-time elementary or secondary school teacher or educational aide after certification a person participating in the program. Non-accredited private schools set forth their individual standards, and applicants should refer to each school for its particular hiring requirements. No campus operating under the charter has been assigned an unacceptable performance rating under Subchapter C, Chapter 39, for the three preceding school years or such a campus has been closed. (a) Not later than the 10th day after the date of the board meeting under Section 21.258, the board of trustees or board subcommittee shall announce a decision that: (1) includes findings of fact and conclusions of law; and.
